Fusion Belly Dance & Movement Classes Cape Town

Yvette started "Traditional/Cabaret" Style Belly Dance with Natasha Wells. At the end of 2007, her love for Bellydancing grew very quickly and she was thrilled when Tenille started Feminine Divine classes in the same building as her current day job.

Yvette started attending classes regularly, twice a week, with Tenille and Crystal. A year later, Yvette found her "Tribe" when she was introduced to SOMA and the world of the BEAUTIFUL "FUSION STYLE" which she is now Extremely Passionate about. She continued with both styles for a year but decided to focus more on "FUSION" which was more akin to her personal style and has been with Marissa and the other ladies at SOMA for the last 12 years.

She joined the SOMA Performance Troupe in 2012 and has also done a bit (not nearly enough) of ATS/FCBD with Nix which has helped her with group dancing awareness and improvisation.

She is very privileged to have had many different, amazing and (in her opinion) some of the best teachers both locally and internationally and has done amazing workshops with internationally acclaimed performers such as Sharon Kihara, Charlotte Wassel, Samantha Emanuel, Kami Liddle, Ansuya, Donna Mejia, Hilde Cannoodt, Kathleen Pearlson to name a few.

Yvette Started teaching Beginner Fusion Classes in 2015 with SOMA. The SOMA fun has been put on pause for a while so Yvette has decided to start up INFUSED BELLYDANCE FUSION to keep the dance energy flowing.

This is what she has to say about her style “I try to infuse traditional moves with an alternative, edgy feel to create a concoction that will leave a sense of beautiful nostalgia with a modern twist. My inspirations are All the teachers I have ever had / have and I am inspired by Anyone who shares their knowledge and helps create Beauty in all forms. As a teacher I would aim to do exactly that, by learning from as well as sharing my knowledge with Students and also nurture and grow the existing beauty in all of them. Come Dance With MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”
